Antiope Clipper 0829 GMT
From Mike Harry (Skipper)
Position at 0115 GMT 16 June 57.30N 30.31W
We have a strong NE breeze and have managed over 200 miles in the last 24 hours. The sun set about an hour ago – we are now sailing in near constant twilight. It is becoming much colder, but the chill factor is low, as there is little humidity in the air.
Ariel is visible on the horizon off our starboard bow so we are keeping pace.
All crew are enjoying life and looking forward to our first encounters with icebergs – though not of the close up kind – as we are only some 480 miles from Cape Farewell.

Ariel Clipper 0724 GMT

A lovely morning – the sun is shining with sixteen knots of wind on our beam. We are making a steady 9-10 knots through calm seas.
It looks like we shall be needing insect repellent both aboard and ashore – maybe someone has a full head net they could lend me!

Today just seems to get better – although cold it is beautifully clear and dry. All the sails are on deck, the crew are washing themselves - and their clothing - so the boat resembles Widow Twankey’s laundry! Still the smell (or lack of it) is a marked improvement!
