The Best Laid Plans …….
Torssukatak Fjord has become totally blocked by ice and there is no way out until the wind turns to the north east. The locals think this will not be for a few days but when it does happen the ice will clear as quickly as it closed in.
We have landed several parties to tramp ashore so time has not been wasted. I climbed a mountain today to have a look out to sea and the ice was solid as far as I could see so we are definitely in the best place.
My immediate problem is the crew change on Wednesday 24 and it looks as though this will have to be done by using a helicopter from Narssuasaq. Arrangements for this are under way and will be passed to those coming out by Rosie at the office.

Points to note are that the boats are both safe and the crews are happily based near civilisation and getting lots of exercise tramping ashore.
The change over is going to be a nice little tester for Rosie in the office. Luckily her background in the aviation business is proving useful as she negotiates for a helicopter from Greenland Air. She will be in touch with all concerned as events unroll.
