Antiope Clipper 2248 GMT 2 July
The climbing party today delayed their departure from 0600 until 1100 because of the fog. Those who stayed behind all volunteered to do a massive clean out of Antiope. The rain then descended at 1400. The forecast for tomorrow is windy so we are hoping that will help clear the entrance. Prune crumble for dinner.
Quote of the day by Sarah. 'The only reason for phoning home is to place a bet'
CLIPPER ANTIOPE continued today by D May
In Kangikitsouk Monday night we spent
And the wind did blow and vent
But the anchor was down
And all slept safe and sound
But when a violent gust did blow
The skipper would leap from his bunk below.
And when the rain did stop Tuesday morning
We upped anchored and left the mooring
Augpilagtoq bound were we
Until we decided to go and see
A little bit further a little bit more
But all the time down the mountains the wind did pour.
But undeterred
We headed for the next berg
With psycho at the bow
Shouting this way now
We needed someone agile and slim
So up the mast went young Jim.
Whilst down below Matt studied the map
And the Aussie had a crap
Now we are paying the price
Spending all night going up and down in the ice
Aug. seems a long way from here
But the crew is happy 'cos happy hour is near.
Proclaiming the ship is sunk
Mark retreats to his bunk
But onward ploughs the foolhardy crew
Knowing that it is the only thing to do
The end is now in sight
As we approach first light.
At 5 AM to Ariel we tie
And there is a smile on the face of Capt Bligh
Safe in Aug-toq
The skipper is writing his log
So RKJ and the inquiry can see
It had nothing to do with me.
THE END - OR IS IT???
Comments by Colin de Mowbray
Well let's hope it's the end. The sponsorship from BT will not run to another marathon like today's! Anyway it has been faithfully reproduced and I suspect will win many literary prizes.

Ariel Clipper 1359 GMT 2 July
From Sir Robin Knox-Johnston at Augpilagtoq
Fiona Meikle has just exclaimed that being on Mother Watch (doing the cooking/cleaning etc) is like looking after 9 small and demanding children on a wet Sunday afternoon. Louise adds 'yes, and when the clown has not turned up for the party!'
A gentle stroll with Chris Bonington left 12 aching knees and to top it all we lost the marine and the stunning views at the top were hidden by low cloud.
The local shop at Augpilagtoq is running low on food as the first ship since February is not due until late July so as a mater of policy we are not doing very much shopping there.
Regards to all RKJ
Comment
It would appear the shop certainly ran out of anti poetry tablets some time ago
