General Notes of Interest

We are a bit short on reports today as the two boats prepare for an interesting week. The ice is still causing a problem at the entrance to the fjords but hopefully the wind will have started to blow it clear. The main decision this week is when it is safe to get back out to sea and sail to Iceland for the crew change due on 12/13 July. Still if it was all easy it wouldn't have been a challenge! It seems a long time ago at the Boat Show when people were asking what the exact programme would be everyday. 'It's not like that' Robin would reply.

Ariel Clipper 1509 GMT 3 July

From Sir Robin Knox-Johnston at Augpilagtoq

We are still here and awaiting the local ice report which should arrive in a couple of hours. We sent a party over to a nearby island today for a climb and they all returned at 2300 happy and tired.

Ian Weatherall is now asking the local girls to save seal teeth for him. I think this is part of some groom buying process. I am particularly worried as he has recently taken to shaving and this reinforces my feeling that may be we should sail as soon as possible.

Regards to everyone RKJ
