More reports of swimming - although whether this was intentional is not clear at this point!

Ariel Clipper 2228 GMT 22 July

From Sir Robin Knox-Johnston - Skipper

Position at 2228 GMT 66.03N 37.02W

In lovely sunshine anchored in Tasilaq Fjord, which is 40 miles from Angmassilik, and 30.3 miles from the Arctic Circle. There was 4 -5/10ths ice along the coast but it diminshed as we came further in to the fjord.

The sea temperature is now 12C so Bob from Antiope went swimming!

There are a lot of Inuit about and also a Swiss tent encampment - being naturally tidy they have aven tidied the stones around it and hoisted their flag!

The fjord is beautiful. Six miles long, it has a narrow entrance but a minimum depth of 10 metres. The mountains around are incredible with glaciers coming down to the valley. Plenty of climbing, walking and exploring to do. Alex and Ian are even threatening to fish - possibly a triumph of hope over expectation!

Regards
