Janey and the Joshua trees in Red Rock Canyon Photo by: Jan   Date: Just outside of Vegas is the desert - from the air, Vegas looks like some kind of wierd oasis surrounded by vast tracts of rocks and sand. We drove out to have a look at the colourations on the rock walls in Red Rock Canyon, but it was hard to get a photo as the sun was in the wrong place (or we were in the wrong place for the sun).
