| We drove to Bologna, but chickened-out from facing the traffic late in the day, so we drove about 50km down southwards into the foothills of the Appennines and found the only hotel in the aread, which was actually closed, but the Signora took pity on us and let us stay that night. She recommended a local trattoria where we enjoyed one of the biggest and most memorable meals of the entire trip, which was delightfully topped off by our waitress offering us free tastes of her home-made Limoncello liqueur 'for the digestion'! Oh yeh we saw this sunflower on the way. |
