Capitolio You might think that this is the Capitol building in Washington, but in reality it is in Havana. It was built by the pre-Castro administration in homage to the USA, which was a major economic supporter of Cuba in those days. As with most other imposing public government buildings it has been converted for other uses, today it is the Academy of Sciences.
