Above Chamonix Having slogged up the road to les Brevents ski lift up behind town, we did our first day skiing in Chamonix. Matt had been there before, so we looked to him for local knowledge. That proved to be a bad move, as the snow up top was much worse than anything we'd had at Val Thorens. We stopped for some vin chaud at the Panoramic restaurant and looked longingly across at Argentiere which was higher and the snow looked drier. Also not a bad view back down into the valley!
